In this  line  ,  Sente  exchanges  the Bishops  with3.Bx3c+ , and  Gote captures  it  with  3...Nx3c

Seeing diagram 2 , you may  think  Gote's  2nd file  and  3rd  file  are  unprotected  . But  these  positions  are  not so easily  break .

Sente advances  the 2nd  file  Pawn . Gote's  Rook  moves  with  4...R-2b  to  protect  the 2ndfile .

Gote's  camp  seems  to  have  a  defect  to be  dropped  a  Bishop  with B*6e  aiming  at  both 6cand 8c  square . But Sente can't  break  Gote's  camp  so  easily .

The move 4.S-4h  seems  very  natural  move .But this move  allows  Gote's  4...R-2b and  4...P-2d . In other words , Gote can select  more  effective line  different  form  other lines .

In this line , Sente advanced  his  Rook Pawn to2e , without  exchanging  the Bishops . Goteselects  most  charactoristic  move  of  this  opening ; 3...R-2b .

In  stead  of  3...R-2b  ,  Gote  can  seletc  some  other  moves , include  3...S-2b , 3...S-3b , 3...S-4b ,3...G-3b  and 3...P-4d . These  moves  lead  agame  other  lines .

If  Sente  exchanges  the  Bishops  in diagram 7 ,the game will  advance  completely  same asdiagram 3.

Sente moves up his right Silver without  exchanging  the  Bishops . Gote moves his  Rook  to 2b without  closing  the Bishop line .

In stead  of  3...R-2b  , Gote  can  select  some  other  lines include  3...S-2b , 3...S-3b , 3...S-4b , 3...G-3b  and 3...P-4d .

If  Sente  exchanged  the  Bishop in diagram 8 ,the game will  advance  completly same  as  4...R-2b line  after  diagram 6 .
