(2) Yokofutori ; Ni-San Fu gata(diagram 2)
After thediagram 1 6...P*2c 7.Rx3d Bx8h+ 8.Sx8h B*2e (diagram 2) Gote drops a Pawn with 6...P-2c , and Sentecaptures the 3d-Pawn . This capturing Pawn with 7.R2dx3d is usually called "Yokofutori" or "Yokofudori" . After exchanging the Bishops , Gote drops a Bishop with 8...B*2e attacking the 3d-Rook . After the diagram 2 , Sente will sacrific his Rook with 9.Rx3b+ or back the Rook with 9.R-3f . This line is the begining of Yokofutori Ni-San Fu gata . back to the top of this page |
(3) Ai Yokofutori(diagram 3)
after thediagram 1 6...P-8f 7.Px8f Rx8f 8.Rx3d Bx8h+ 9.Sx8h Rx7f (diagram 3) After the 8th file Pawn exchange , Sente captures the 3d-Pawn . Gote needs the Bishop exchange , beforecapturing the 7f-Pawn . If Gote captures the 7f-Pawn without the Bishop exchange , Gote willlose an advantage . (4) Yon-Go Kaku senpou(diagram 4)
after the diagram 1 6...P-8f 7.Px8f Rx8f 8.Rx3d Bx8h+ 9.Sx8h P*2h 10.Sx2h B*4e (diagram 4) Replying Sente's Pawn capturing with 8.Rx3d ,Gote exchanges the Bishops and sacrifices a Pawn with 9...P*2h . after the diagram 1 6...P-8f 7.Px8f Rx8f 8.Rx3d B-3c (diagram 5) 8...B-3c is a beginning of Kuchu senou .Kuchusenmeans "an airfight" .Kuchu senpouis alsocalled "Yokofutori San-San Kaku senpou" . Kuchu senpouhas 3 major lines and other minor lines . (a)NAITOU ryu San-San Kaku senpou(diagram 5-1) after the diagram 5 9.R-3f R-8d 10.R-2f S-2b 11.P*8g K-5b (diagram 5-1) This line is the original of Kuchu senpou . This line has no established name . In this page Icall this line , "Yokofutori 9...B*3c line" . This line appears only among some amateur shogi players .

This line also has no established name . In thispage I call this line , "Yokofutori 9...P*3h line" .
This line is very rare among professional Shogi players .
